CA4_ are bi-wireable versions, these versions can be mono-wired by paralleling the pairs at the speaker end.
CA2_ are mono-wire versions.
CA_P is screened cable giving a very open, detailed sound throughout the frequency range. It has a very good 3 dimensional soundstage.
CA_Q is an unscreened cable.
Cable Details -All the types use the same cable but wired differently – CA4 uses 4 strands per conductor and CA2 uses 8 strands per conductor. The cables are supplied with gold plated 4mm plugs fitted using silver loaded solder.
Each strand is solid core pure copper with polyethylene/air insulation. They are constructed as a litz cable i.e. the strands are only connected at the ends. This avoids electrical contact along the cable, which can create unwanted interference signals.
The litz arrangement allows small diameter strands to be used avoiding the skin effect, The skin effect causes electrons flow predominantly on the surface of a conductor adversely affecting high frequencies performance.
The inductance of our speaker cables is kept as low as possible consistent with their overall performance. Low inductance improves damping of the drive units reducing overshoot of the cones as they respond to transient signals.
CA4_ resistance for 5M cable – 0.33 ohms @ 10 to 10KHz, rising to only 0.5 ohms at 20KHz.
CA2_ resistance for 5M cable – 0.18 ohms @ 10 to 10KHz, rising to only 0.26 ohms at 20KHz.
